VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS

A vocational assessment provides information about an individual’s skills, abilities and interests, and identifies possible career paths the individual could pursue. An assessment might be undertaken as a result of a personal decision to change careers or at certain milestones, such as completion of an educational or training program, or following an injury, which necessitates occupational change.

A vocational assessment at Vocational Pacific Ltd. includes components such as:

  • In-depth personal interview to obtain background information.

  • Transferable skills analysis.

  • A full battery of vocational tests.

  • Review of all applicable case documentation.

  • Formulation of vocational profile based on findings.

  • Identification of job areas that are compatible with the profile.

  • Labour market research to explore the availability of employment in certain areas, and to obtain information regarding wage rates and job pre-requisites.

  • Identification of preliminary strategies to achieve a selected career goal.

  • Follow-up interview to provide the client with feedback regarding the assessment results if desired.
